Hi, i am new to kodi i recently got a new box. (kodi m8) someone set it up for me but said try adding a build on so i read up on it wiped my box but now cant seem to add anything back on it, it wont let me install zip files i been following vidoes on you tube but still wont install any zip files please can anyone help, thanks...

Your friend gave you bad advice. Those builds can totally muck up your installation not to mention facilitating illegal access to copyrighted material.
