I use Windows 10 Pro and I recognized that in startmenu folder there is only the link to kodi.tv, but no Kodi Icon, but in startmenu folder in windows explorer there is the Start Kodi und the uninstall Kodi Icon.
Why are these two Icons missing in start menu (all apps) in windows 10?
I already installed and deinstalled Kodi 16.1 rc1, 15.2 and 16.0 several times and I also deleted my complete folder in roaming but I never get the icons visible in start menu. Is that a bug? Can anybody confirm that?
Thank you, but I have counted with powershell that I have only 221.
I would hate to see the desktop too!
I know it is crazy but it is not as hard as you thing to get over 512 items.
Each program that gets installed could have multiple shortcuts to different things:
- The executable(s)
- Help files
- Links to websites
- Updaters
- Other documents
- Microsoft Windows OS component shortcuts
- Start Menu subfolders
On some peoples' computers there could be 30-40 different programs installed (crazy I know, but it happens).

So it not that bug then.
Have you looked in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Is there a subfolder for Kodi or a shortcut to the Kodi executable in that folder?

I searched in
Code:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
but there isn't one Icon or anything related to Kodi.
But in
Code:
C:\Users\klaus\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Kodi
I have these three files, but only the link is visible in all apps:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4y5u0g...sp=sharing
Are the other icons hidden by chance? Right click>Properties
I installed on my Dads computer Kodi 16.0 and the Start Kodi. Icon shows up in all apps folder next to the link. So the Uninstall Icon shouldn't be visible?
I deinstalled Kodi on my computer, then I rebooted it and then I did a new installation and during installation the Icon is placed to my Icons like you choose rightclick add to start. But the Icon in startmenu is still missing. If I remove (not delete) the Icon from Start, then the Icon Start Kodi. is missing in
Code:
C:\Users\klaus\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Kodi

Duh, I completely forgot about the other junk that gets added, not just the shortcut. That makes sense then lol

Honestly you don't have a problem. Go into your program files folder and right click kodi.exe and create a shortcut. This entire thread is more absurd than asking for help with piracy streams.
