I have a new firestick, installed es file explorer and kodi and then something which didnt work - gave mainly german channels

Installed or tried to - spitfire - eventually worked but no great revelation in additional channels and couldnt get normal kodi to add things

so removed that, reset to factory and now downloaded es and navigate to http://kodi.tv/download

click on arm .... and nothing, it doesnt dowload or change or do anything

what am i doing wrong?

also tried downloading on android phone (works on phone) and from here installing on firestick - fail

also tried firestarter and failed again - cannot download obb

Firstly you should be aware that we don't support community builds, and also read our forum rules (wiki) concerning piracy and the wiki notes on free content (wiki). The one you tried initially would probably fall into one or more of those categories.

The arm downloads can be somewhat awkward to get started, but it has been reported that if you keep trying it can eventually be persuaded to start. It can sometimes be quicker to download the file on a PC and then transfer it across and use it locally, see HOW-TO:Install_Kodi for Android TV (wiki) for more details.

Also others have reported to try :

to get it to download. Have a look in that thread for others having a similar issue in downloading via ES and how they resolved it that way.
