Hi, is there anyone who can help me with trying to use Kodi on my fire stick, I want to be able to use it like sky tv, does anyone know how they can give me an idiots guide how to do this please.
Firstly is suggest you read the wiki entries on free content (wiki) and the forum rules (wiki).

We do not support illegal access to subscription media here.

There are Sky go add-ons it you have a subscription, but I'm not sure if they are currently working.
Pop your Sky TV subscription details into the Sky Go add-on and there you have it:

Sorry, I dont have much experience with forums, so not too good with knowing all the rules. What I mean by Sky TV is how do I set it up to be able to navigate Kodi like Sky Tv, eg being able to put the channels into categories, instead of just shows, films etc but to be able to put channels into categories
That depends on the source of your channels. If your PVR back end includes an EPG then you should be able to change the view into categories.
What does PVR mean?
Personal Video Recorder you'll find all the details about PVR's here http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR_FAQ

Just where are your channels coming from?
Ok thank you, what source would give me the closest for what I'm looking for please, unfortunately as I said I have absolutely no clue on terminology or how to use these things etc, need an absolute idiots guide to everything but I don't even know where to start. I just thought it was plug in and play, but not that simple.

To watch live TV you need a television signal.

To watch via Kodi you need a PVR back end with a tuner that is linked via software to a PVR "client" on Kodi. For example, you could be using an HDHomerun network tuner to access Freeview television signals and the HDHomerun add-on to view them in Kodi.
Sorry what your saying makes very little sense, I currently own an openbox but I was told these fire sticks would be better as they don't depend on my signal, the current problem I have is I have an openbox v8s but my signal is not fantastic so I lose the programs/channels at times.

Is that a Freesat box? If so then a similar solution for Kodi that streams channels via the internet would be to use the TV Catchup add-on. This gives you legal streams of the most popular free to air UK channels.

The "person" you mention seems to be a youtuber who specialises in instructing people on how to use Kodi for PIRACY purposes.

This was something you were told we do not provide support for from the very first reply to your post.

Goodbye.
