System Specs in the signature block
when KODI is starting I get two CEC popups in the bottom left
One WHITE message "connecting to adapter'
Second RED-X Couldn't connect to adapter
Here are the latest 2 CRASH LOGs: [if I need to post another logfile please suggest the path/filename as I'm a linux newbie]

The Raspberry Pi comes with an integrated "CEC adapter" and doesn't use our hardware. It just uses our software, libCEC.
If it fails to load, then there's either an issue with the distribution that you're using or in Kodi. You can ask for help on Kodi's forums: http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=166
