please suggest me how Kodi can handle this practical thing for my Raspberry Pi-2. I have LG TV & after enabling LG Simplelink(CEC) feature I can control Kodi with TV remote without any trouble. I need help to fine tune my settings. “I want whenever I will switch off my TV (HDMI) the raspberry PI stop streaming/downloading & go into sleep mode”. I do not want that my Internet data consumption continue even after when our TV OFF. Now if we are watching something through kodi and switch off TV the raspberry pi continue streaming nonstop. I am able to see through router the data is transferred continuously. So I want to safeguard us from over data consumption from ISP data limit. If we are watching something in HD & this type of thing happen two three nights in a month we easily cross our data limit. So please guide me how raspberry pi sense the TV is off & stop all streaming function goes in sleep mode & when I again on our TV. Raspberry pi either open in home window or resume streaming function. My main focus is system stop data consumption after sensing TV off.
I do not have trouble to run raspberry pi 24/7 365 days. i want that thing always working continuously, but i want stop downloading data if TV HDMI is switched off within active streaming. so my main consideration is not to consume bandwidth when we are not watching TV. this thing must need to be addressed as in common household TV having multiple signal input equipment (streaming box, set top box, cable box, DVD player, X Box). so what will happen if some body running LIVE channel (through streaming, end less data source) on raspberry PI and change the source HDMI to another HDMI source. so in background Raspberry pi continuously consuming bandwidth. it must be a expensive mistake for that limited bandwidth consumer. so there must be some solid solution to address these type of scenarios.
in simple form i want:-
whenever system sense HDMI off >>> system run Kodi stop Command >>>> bring Kodi on Home page >>> pause/stop/cancel all download till that HDMI not switched on again >>>> ultimate solution" No download till HDMI is not active"
