I think the freezing is something else. memtester locks the memory and if there is too little remaining linux struggles to run.
I believe I got that and did a control-c and left it for a while it response did return.
I'm more interested in using a lower number such that the test does run, but reports corruption.
Just hung again whilst watching live TV.. sound looped for 3-5 seconds then screen got all corrupted like coloured snow then total freeze..

Thank you for the extra build, I was eager to try the new version of the skin...was...
Since it's not issues but but just thoughts:
- The massive size of the movie posters on the main screen are just completely out of all proportion. Your quick overview is gone and where it before has become one of the main movie selection points, due to the now introduced extensive navigation requirements it has become a main screen to completely ignore.
- The single list view (List) of the movie section that I used has been rendered illogical by positioning the list in the middle, with movie info on both sides now. It does not make sense.
- The two alternative lists that could have served as a reluctant alternative (WideList and Fanart) place labels and icons on top of the list for some reason and if it not lacks the year, it lacks a proper poster view
I understand that no skin will be perfect for everybody, but the combination of these strange design decisions will leave me resting with the previous build for the time being, if not switch to to a different skin if left unchanged in the end.
hi guys
i have a question
i installed a 5 ghz wlan usb-stick on my raspberry 3
but i only can see 2,4 ghz Networks
is it possible to connect to 5 ghz networks with this kind of wlan sticks?
(just in case someone asks why... i know the pi 3 has wlan onboard but its crap
)

As a quick test, could you perhaps temporarily rename the folder "Micky Maus Wunderhaus" to "greetings from ksooo", restart kodi and look whether now a folder "greetings from ksooo" appears under "Disney Jr. HD" and that the content of "greetings from ksooo" is all the "Mickey Maus Wunderhaus" files?
@
grisia unfortunately my assumption on what goes wrong on your end was not correct. I cannot reproduce the problem, folders, subfolders ... all works fine here. Maybe activating debug log, opening recordings window and opening some of the folders there and posting the debug log sheds some more light on this.
@all can somebody else confirm the recordings subfolders problem @
grisia reported?
Hi Milhouse,
here is my little fedback:
I have no "optical" Problem with the new skin in build #1122x-gd4d5e7f.
But with mouse i can not handle my files in a folder - if there are more than 20 single files i have no chance for a selection - scroll down or up is to fast :-)
With Logitech K400 keybord there is no problem - scroll down/up with arrows are ok - with the built-in touchpad of K400 it's also impossible for me to strike a selection.
Positiv: clear, thin letters - perfect on large screens < 40" - cheerful design - i love it!
The RPI 2 is verry fast now...like a rocket. Great build!
But at the moment only to handle with keyboard or kodiCore /Yatse apk over android with my second Rpi3 on TV.
What a shame. :-(
Please pass this buck to the specialist from this skin - my english is to terrible - can't explain this inbuild problem ;-)
You are my man :-) :-) :-)
THX
Harald

ok, i'm running the test with 600M on latest bootcode.bin and without the limit in config.txt.... no errors so far, Loop 3... i'm gonna let it burn throug the night....

Please post skin related bug/issue reports in the Estuary sub-forum, please. All other feedback, including brief supporting or critical thoughts on the new Estuary (but not bug reports!), in this thread.
Thanks a lot for this build. I made a quick test with mi Pi3 and I have now issues with the new kernel
- Nice skin, good visibility and smooth
- Ambilight with hyperion and SPI overlay is working
- Live TV with VDR and DVB-C tuner is working but zapping is slower than #1122
- MPD audio out with analog jack and Sigma-Delta driver is working
- Kore remote is working
- HDMI-CEC is working
- video playback from USB disk is working

@
ksooo So I have now deleted all recordings except one. Next, I removed all the special characters from the folder names. ('fussball c' was the second try what worked for me. 'fussball' without space also worked)
On my hdd it looks like so:
Code:
root@pvr /var/lib/tvheadend/dvr/log # tree /mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
/mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
└── zdf
└── fussball c
└── Fussball_ Champions League_Borussia Moenchengladbach - Manchester City.mkv
Et voila in Kodi I see:
Debug Log looks like: (I removed all the key events)
Code:
22:59:44.230 T:7584 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (MyPVRRecordings.xml) ------

Next try I inserted space character in the top folder ('zdf' -> 'zdf h')
Code:
root@pvr /var/lib/tvheadend/dvr/log # tree /mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
/mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
└── zdf h
└── fussball c
└── Fussball_ Champions League_Borussia Moenchengladbach - Manchester City.mkv
Ok now Kodi shows:
And the debug log:
Code:
22:55:49.977 T:7584 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (MyPVRRecordings.xml) ------
22:55:49.977 T:7584 DEBUG: CDirectoryProvider[]: refreshing..

22:55:51.048 T:8728 DEBUG: CPVRDirectory::GetDirectory(pvr://recordings/tv/active/zdf%20h)
Lastly I still tried to rename the subfolder. ('fussball c' -> 'fussball'):
Code:
root@pvr /var/lib/tvheadend/dvr/log # tree /mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
/mnt/shares/storage/media/records/
└── zdf h
└── fussball
└── Fussball_ Champions League_Borussia Moenchengladbach - Manchester City.mkv
But still no luck in Kodi...
I hope the information a little help?
New skin, as I click the main window -> Addons -> Install from zip nothing happens

Do you still have this mouse problem with tonight's #1123 build (in case it's a kernel 4.9-rc6 related issue)? Assuming you do, then it's probably best to report it in the Estuary forum as a usability issue.
@
grisia how do you rename the folders? Ofc you know that it's not enough to just rename them on the disk and that you additionally have to manually edit tvheadend's internal dvr database (a set of json files)? And after this you have to restart tvheadend.
