Intel 22.20.16.4729 driver for Apollo Lake. This is a new driver branch with WDDM 2.2 support on Creators Update 1703. This should enable HDR support but I don't know if Apollo Lake supports it like Kaby Lake does.
Tried it. No HDR toggle in windows and PowerDVD still cant output HDR despite detecting HDR content and capable display.

What i expected. Thanks Intel!

Looks like the kaby lake guys don't have an HDR toggle either.

I find it really hard to believe this is a hardware limitation and not just Intel not supplying proper drivers for Apollo Lake. Also if they already have a Kaby Lake driver, I doubt there would be much involved to get HDR working on Apollo Lake. It's sad with the amount of cheap small devices like a fire TV or ODROID C2 that support HEVEC, that this massive company is just now adding drivers support for products that have been out for almost a yr.

Oh it's 100% B.S.

I'm done with intel, waiting on the AMD APUs to upgrade.
It is pretty bad.
I hope AMD do release a NUC style device otherwise I will have no choice but to build a mini HTPC using a 1050ti or something as Nvidia sounds like they do support HDR.
Pretty sure OEMs will make NUC style boxes based on AMD APUS hopefully we start seeing Raven Ridge in that capacity.
Dears,

I have HTPC based on J4205-ITX motherboard and I have the problem with TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, audio passtrough via HDMI. My receiver is Onkyo TX-NR646.
Windows 10 OS based HTPC.
I have asked Asrock support to help me to solve this issue and they tested the similar configuration. Support told me that everything is working correctly. The photos are attached.
Could you please suggest me what's wrong in my configuration. Why it's not working.

Thank you!

No
I can't make this motherboard to passthrough the audio signal like True HD or ATMOS to my receiver. DTS working perfect, but the others, no....
ASROCK support told me that everything in their lab is working.
HowHuh?

HowHuh?
But your Screenshots say it works!
Do you Use HDMI 2.0 to an HDMI 2.0 TV? Then install this Firmware upgrade to the DP-HDMI Bridge: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa...BN-NUC6CAY
Yes, I use HDMI 2.0 cable and TV/Receiver.
I will try this firmware update. But is it compatible with J4205-ITX motherboard?
Screenshots not mine, they sent by ASROCK support team.

No HDR, however hardware h.265 encodes with staxrip no longer crash. This used to not function for me, appears fixed in the driver.

Not a bad box for encoding tv shows or random comedy movies that don't really need good PQ to a smaller size.
Dear JasonLA,

Thank you! The firmware solved my problem!
