So I don't have to trawl through all these pages, what's the status? Do you have a working iPlayer script for XBMC on XBox?

.

It works on XBox, Windows & Linux using flash vp6 video. XBMC doesn't yet support h.264 over rtmp:// but hopefully will soon. The radio catchup side works well on XBox, not so well on Linux & Windows due to problems supporting rtsp://.

Hi Folks

I've put a new version of the plugin up at http://drop.io/xbmcdink
This version allows Windows & Linux uses to play the Radio catchup streams.

Live radio streams still don't work on Windows and Linux (xbmc issues with mms:// and rtsp:// on these platforms).

In case your interested the catchup radio streams are mp3s, have a bitrate of 128k and use rtmp as the transport protocol.

just tried iplayer from 26/04/09 downloaded from http://drop.io/xbmcdink , on my xbox. i extracted it to my video plugins folder and started it. it gets the thumbnails of the various programs but it gives an error when trying to play the actual video. am i doing something wrong or is it still not working?
Great release! This works for me on an Xbox with the latest T3CH release.

I tried a live radio stream, a couple of listen again streams and a TV stream. All seemed to work except when playing a listen again stream of Danny Baker on BBC London. Perhaps this is due to it being in real audio?
any idea what might be wrong here? newest t3ch release (april 23), uses mplayer as default video player, but it gives an error that it doesnt locate the flash stream. help, anyone?

I've made a minor mod 2009-04-26B that falls back on real if it can't find the mp3 stream.

Sorry not enough info can you post a log. Look for a xbmc.log file under the directory where XBMC is installed on your xbox (e:\xbmc e:\apps\xbmc) and paste it onto http://pastebin.com/

There was some talk a few weeks/1month ago about getting the HQ streams added into the SVN. (i havent updated in a while) - do we have the HQ streams available now?

thanks

Not quite there yet. There is a couple of patches from Frosty that need to go into SVN http://xbmc.org/ticket/5548 which should (fingers crossed) sort out the remaining issues with video "jerkyness". The plugin itself is all ready to go, with the latest drop you can change the video stream to one of the h.264 streams. It just won't work very well yet.

That fixes it. Thanks for the quick response.
Hi,

has anyone got this working through a http proxy?

Thanks to all the plugin contributors.
Working for me as well, thanks.

The plugin is failing at the point were it is requesting the media selector xml file. I've seen someone else with this problem in the past. It turned out that the BBC had misidentified their IP address as non UK. An easy test for this is to use a PC on the same broadband connection, navigate to the IPlayer website and see if you can play a video.

I tried this from the US http://www.xroxy.com/proxy-country-GB.htm but iplayer/py just returned an error after I enabled http proxy....Huh
