Ah, I'm meant the special Android TV Video app - on the shield it gives 1080p & 5.1 playback of Amazon video.

Not impressive. This is what I got
Numbers are in Mbps. Average of 3 tests.
Test configuration: WiFi Speed Test app, Router: Netgear R7000 (802.11ac, Channel 36, 80MHz channel width), Gigabit Network, TCP Server/SMB Share on Intel Core i5-4570S, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 64-bit 1607. Transfer Size:200 MB, Block Size: 4KB (TCP), 8KB (SMB)
These speeds are fine for the type of box it is. For your WiFi test, how far away is the Mi Box from the Netgear rounter?
Thanks.

Not for many straight BD rips, when they hover near 40Mbps (or near 48Mbps combined w/HD audio). Unless, you mean fine for Netflix, VUDU, etc., and not Kodi and personal library use.

It is about 12 ft. away with a wall in between. For comparison, the throughput for nVIDIA Shield and X9S are:
nVIDIA Shield: 325.3 Mbps (Up) / 369.2 Mbps (Down)
Zidoo X9S: 194.6 Mbps (Up) / 168.6 Mbps (Down)
Shield can do 2x2 MIMO. I don't think the Xiaomi Mi or Zidoo X9S supports MIMO. I haven't checked the performance with 40MHz channel width.
i don't understood if YouTube HDR work? ... found not work
S905x shold be support VP9-10 Profile-2, have to wait youtube app update?
can be boot libreelec from SD/USB?
Xiaomi has launched two new variants of its smart TV box
Mi Box 3s and
Mi Box 3c.
Both the newly launched devices come with quad-core processors, AI (Artificial Intelligence)
, out of the box 4K support. The Mi Box 3s features a price tag of 299 Yuan ($43.50 USD or Rs. 2,949 INR approx.), while the Mi Box 3c is almost 30 percent cheaper and costs just 199 Yuan ($29 USD or Rs.1,969 INR approx.)..

Are these the TCP or SMB speeds? Is there a NFS test available? Any comparisons to the Amazon Fire TV box or stick?
This is great stuff. Thx for posting.

Again, probably the wrong box for that application or use case.

Those are TCP throughput. There is no direct NFS throught testing available within the WiFi Speed Test app. For NFS throughput testing, you have use a file manager like ES File Explorer. If I get time tonight, I will do the tests on AFTV2.

HDR is not officially supported on the Mi Box. It is supposed to come with Android Nougat update. Downloaded VP9 Profile 2 files do play on the Mi Box, but no HDR from those.
