In view of the fact that FernetMenta has removed a lot of the information that used to be available in the on-screen 'codec-info' overlay but has stated that this information is available to skins, I wondered if there is a chance that Kodi's default skin will be able to display such information.

As everyone is told to prefer the default skin when debugging issues, it seems only logical that it supports a method of displaying this info.

I'm making this request for two reasons.

1) Lots of users found the overlay very useful and are disappointed that much of the information is removed in Krypton, with apparently no chance of this being reverted.

2) If Estuary & Estouchy implement the feature, other skins are much more likely to also include it.

Thanks for your consideration.

Codec Info is extremely useful, mostly when a new setup is made, drivers updated, etc, so any problem could be debugged and solved. It is a shame that developers preferred to remove it, hide it and make it difficult for users to see it.
It's already there
Thread marked solved.
Where is it now? Pressing "o" doesn't display it any more for me.

Really, I cannot understand such rude behavior of many Kodi developers with all of us who want to help improving Kodi by reporting bugs, giving ideas, asking for features...

You could have been quite more professional and kind if you had spent less than one minute writing where it is or even 3 minutes if you had upload an image with the requested info.

I am a software developer too and, even I feel sometimes what you could be feeling, I behave kind, professional, explain the clients and redirect them to manuals, emails or wherever the issue was discussed thousand of times.

Open source developing should be fun, for the community, for yourself... If you think it is a pain in your ass..
What is there to explain? You press "O" and there's a codec info screen. Do we need to draw it out in pictures?

Wow, all your posts are total d-bag responses. You just replied to one of mine and now I see this one..why so rude? Some of us are new, or not as smart with all this why do you have to treat people poorly for posting on an internet forum? That is the point of forums after all....asking questions, chatting, etc.

Social skill training much?

I know you're a Kodi developer, and I respect that, but this is no excuse for rude behavior.

Make sure you're using a recent Kodi nightly and a skin that supports the new player process info dialog.
