I've just upgraded my M8S+ Android TV Box to Android 5.1.1, uninstalled Kodi 15 without using it then installed Kodi 16.1. When I try to add Video Files I browse to Windows Network (SMB) and it is empty, none of my SMB shares show up. If I manually enter the path SMB://MyShare I can then see and play the video files in that share. Same happens with adding sources in settings. I was able to browse the SMB network in Kodi 16.1 on my M8S+ when it was running Android 4.2 is this a Kodi or Android issue?
Just add the source by hand and its all good.

I cant browse my NFS share (prob due to being NFSv4) but i can add the source just fine by hand and my files work

Cheers!
I already tried that but it didn't help.
I think the problem is in Android. I installed ES File Manager and I can't browse the LAN but I can manually enter the path to a share and see it's contents.
I'll try asking in an Android forum.
Thanks for your input wyild1.
