I have a Nvidia Shield TV with Kodi. I have a USB 3.0 hdd connected to it with all my movies. Now to my problem. After a couples of minutes the movie shuts down. If I start the movie again from where it shut down, it will take a couple of minutes and the same thing happens again.This happens withe every movie.
It only happens with Kodi, not when i use VLC..

Does anyone know what the problem is?

A shutdown after a couple of minutes, suggests something other than software (although it still could be a handshaking issue) You might want to monitor with the OSD while playing a video (keybaord 'o') and look for issues. Debug logs are created just for these issues, you might find fetch errors or failure to decode. As a side issue, check for high temps in the hardware.
