ive set up some channel groups from within kodi group manager, does anyone know how to reorder the groups? i looked on the tvheadend interface and no groups appear at all.

Kodi's groups and Tvheadend's groups are different. If you set them up in Kodi they are only available on that device. To use them in Tvheadend, you use its channel tags. When you have those setup in TVH, and Kodi set to use groups from the backend, then Kodi will display your TVH "groups".
