Installing Kodi on Firestick home page

can it be done with the remote or does it need to be reprogramed

trying to get the Kodi Shortcut on the Home screen of Firestick... it will not even go to recents on firestick

Need to make sure you have latest OS update. Fireos5 I believe. Once you have the stick up to date, you need to install the application. I use es file explorer on my phone and on my fire TV. I download the kodi apk on my phone, launch es file explorer on both phone and fire TV. Ony phone, browse to the apk I just downloaded. Long press on it to check it, then from the menu select send to. Es will scan your network for another instance, finding you fire TV. Accept the transfer on fire TV. I place it in the downloads folder. Once transfered launch it and it will ask to install. Once installed it should show up in your recent view after launched
