Hi, Please can someone help

I have installed spmc16 on fire tv 2. I am wanting to move kodi data to usb drive to save internal memory.
I previously had achieved this with kodi but cant seem to get it to work with spmc.

Fire tv assigns the usb drive with the name usbotg

Here's where I am.

created xbmc_env.properties file in internal root.

xbmc.data=/storage/usbotg/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc16/files.

On the usb are.

Android\data\com.semperpax.spmc16\files

.spmc.

I renamed the android folder in the internal root to Android1. This set up worked but after restarting fire tv it hangs. I noticed fire tv is rewriting the Android folder in the root in stead of on the usb.

Any advice will be great. thanks
You need to create spmc_env.properties rather than xbmc_env.properties (which will work for kodi and older versions of spmc).
Thanks for the reply.

After I have created spmc_env.properties does everything else remain the same?

cheers
I created sbmc_env.properties

xbmc.data=/storage/usbotg/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc16/files.

Still it hangs and creates Android folder in internal root
It's always just worked for me, sorry.
The only 'obvious' things that spring to mind are the path isn't right or you're creating spmc_env.properties.txt.
FWIW mine is:
xbmc.data=/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc16/files

Edit: might be worth checking if it works if pointed at your sd card.
Got spmc To load up again without hanging by changing

xbmc.data=/storage/usbotg/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc16/files

to

spmc.data=/storage/usbotg/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc16/files

but I think its still writing to internal root and not correct
Cheers for your help so far. I'm off to work now so if you can think of anything else please post. Will try again when I get home
Got it working finally. I hadn't realised the problems had started after I mounted fire app starter and as to external usb. Once I put them back on internal drive all works as it should. Cheers for your help
Good find - glad it's working.
