Hi, noob here and new to Kodi TV. Got a cheap XGoDY TX1 last week and to be honest its not that great but that due to my rubbish internet so awaiting a fibre upgrade. I installed Kodi on my tablet and it streams surprisingly better that the XGoDY so i was going to just use that until my upgrade but after a couple of minutes the channel closes taking me back to the menu. Its like this in all channels/programs i use. Any ideas why?

1888 - this manufacturer sells pre-loaded piracy boxes. We will not support this box unless you do a full removal of the pre-packaged installation and install a clean version of kodi from kodi.tv/downloads
No problem bry- i could do that easy enough as installing the channels was easy enough on the tablet. Ill be back when done but my main channel turning off problem is on my tablet and i downloaded Kodi from kodi.tv
Just to know before going further: what are the "channels" or "programs" you use and give you this issue?
Right. Deleted Kodi from TV box and re installed from play store and ill add the add-ons later. I was meaning add-ons Gracus. I was presuming say channel pear was the program what has the channels. As i say, new to all this. Reason for buying this cheap box was to try this out and if it runs OK after the fibre upgrade i was told to buy from here

On my tablet. Its them all. It will run for a couple of minutes and close the add-on and go back to the menu. I was thinking tablet screensaver but that is switched to half an hour and stay on when plugged in.
Is 16.1 the latest Kodi? i installed it from the play store after kodi.com redirected me there.
Channel pear is a
banned add-on (wiki) as it uses illegally pirated sources.
Basically any add-on or app which offers you shows, channels or movies (especially ones still in theatres) for free which you would normally need to pay for will almost certainly be using pirated sources.
Yip Darren i was reading more on the wiki page. Had the Metalkettle one as well. Found the showcase list what i presume is all OK
