Hi all

I use a Kodi box to allow the kids to watch films on their devices around the house.

I have the 12+ films in one folder, and the U and PGs in another. I want to prevent them from accessing the 12+ videos when they use their DLNA clients.

Is that possible? Is there a way to prompt them for a password or something when trying to access the 12+ folder?

Olly
As far as I know, there isn't a way when using Kodi as a UPnP/DLNA server.
You can't - DLNA doesn't work like that. It's all or nothing for the media it can see and has in its scanned database.
I had a similar problem and I created directories based on rating R/G/PG/PG-13/Not-Avail etc and shared directories via samba with different users and of-course you can give passwords here.
there are some players on android etc that can play via samba not sure about ios and others
All kodi versions can access samba shares.
