Ok guys, I think one of the biggest stumbling blocks that people are going to run into is getting digital audio to work right on each system. Of course everyones setting might be a bit different but I would like to see a few configs that might help out with my issues which is posted here http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=152...stcount=12

any help or examples of working ones would be appreciated.

I have more or less the same problem if anyone has some solutions.
I can play VOB files in mplayer and get DD audio however not mkv and notting digital in XBMC

Actually you have to apply a patch to get digital audio to work...

Before you build xbmc
issue patch -p0 <ac3patch.diff

ill give that a shot, can you post your asoundrc for me ?

That patch has already been merged and is no longer required. Enabling digital audio in the Settings -> Sound setup accomplishes the same thing. (I found the patch the other day and checked the source)
