Raspberry Pi, you could have easily figured that out yourself.

I'm new to this. Is this raspberry pi an android box?

No it's not, which @brando56894 could have easily figured out.
Although he does have one point, you could have easily figured this out by using the hardware guide that is already available - http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=252916.
Your question is quite broad, lacks details such as what constitutes inexpensive to you, and shows no prior effort in research. It comes across as - Help me, because I can’t be bothered to help myself.

I've used the M8S for Kodi 2/8 and I've been happy with it. I'm looking for an android box that is Alison 2/8 or better, abdroid5.1 or better, quad core or better. I don't know if I should get lollipop or marshmallow. I want something similar to the M8S. I would still use the M8S but it has kit Kat and I read that Kodi 17 won't work with anything under lollipop.
