@jcovert your crash looks a bit different - please post a debug log (wiki) too.

Does Krypton 17 Beta 3 crash too for you on sierra?

On my macmini running macos 10.12 jarvis 16.1 starts up fine.
I have the same problem it pops up an error all the time , saying: "pulsar quit unexpectedly"

WHAT TO DO?Undecided
What the others in this thread should do are did already too? My crystal ball is still broken ...
Crap. I thought I posted what I found out, but it's gone.

I renamed the ~/Library/Application Support/Kodi/ directory and it starts up fine, but of course my library is gonzo.

I went back to 14.2 and everything is OK.

That makes me wonder if there is an issue with the preferences and library if you try to upgrade directly from 14.2 to 16.1 without ever going through 15.

Anyway, for now I'm running 14.2 and it's time to watch a movie. I may download 16.1 again tomorrow if I feel motivated to do so. In the meanwhile, does this info give you any idea what might be happening?
We never tested an upgrade between 2 major releases or more. You should export your library to xml, then remove the kodi folder, upgrade and import the library back. That should work. You need to setup your addons afterwards, but its like with windows - do it from scratch if you want to have a chance that it works.
I tested mine from v14 to v17 without issues (after they got fixed now) on windows
The Kodi 17 beta 3 lasted nightly is also crashing me in Os sierra 10.12.

But i can install it fine in the Guest Account.

Ok found it its a common solution...

uninstall / move to trash any previous kodi version

Open finder
Top menu > go > press alt > library > application support > kodi file > remove all to trash > empty trash

Install the nightly version.
hey guys,

thanks for your support. a week ago I installed the kodi nightly build. until now it did work again. but now kodi crashes again and gives me the same alert again.
i installed kodi again and again… but nothing works
Please post a new crash reporter and debug log (wiki) so i can verify its the same issue.
you missed the debug log (wiki) (crash is pretty different this time).
