Folks, i'm missing something really basic i think, but cannot find the answer for the life of me!
If i see a video via one of the many scripts/plugins that are available can i download that and save for later?
I think i got real close with the context button and manually add to library option...but where do these files go? 'cos i couldn't find it afterwards.

What i'd really like to do is be able to choose a folder location and save things there.
Am i missing something blindingly obvious or is this not possible?

I've looked through manual and searched all over the place to no avail.
Any pointers?
thx
download is not a built-in function into XBMC but something that have to be added by the script/plugin author of each individual script/plugin. Oh, and this is the wrong forum for this so moving your post to the script/plugin support forum.
ok...maybe i phrased the question incorrectly.

in simple terms - "how do i save files to the xbox"?

I don't think it's a script issue, it's far more simple than that Blush
Choose not to believe me if you like but that does not change the fact that it is a python scripting 'issue'.
You can download them I do it like this

Obviously you have already added the plugins as sources.

Highlight what you want to download
press white button
Select "Switch Media"
Then Select "file manager"

the rest should be obvious from there on Big Grin

hope that helped
ok...can get to file manager part...then what?
thanks for help so far.

glad to be of help Wink

I've been the quiet one at the back of the forum room, just observing and learning for a few months now. I was half way through a script of my own until they changed to plugins/and or half the stream sources sites dissappeared.

so going back to drawing board! Confused

I'll just slip to the back again now and wait for something else I can help with Nod Laugh
If you have time, many people would be thankful if you could update the powerflv script.i would guide you so afterwards you could easily write your own content plugins. interested?
Is it possible to save files to the xbox from either Seeqpod or Shoutcast?

I found an article which stated old versions of XBMC had an option to save net-radio songs as wma, but the option was taken out, older build had an option that would save every net-radio song as a different file and then you would just delete the songs you did not like, it this true?

I was going to try and find an older version, although both shoutcast and plugins (seeqpod) won't work on them anymore (I am guessing due to changes of web site and builds)

I would appreciate any help trying to save music files to xbox from either seqpod or shourcast, or add the option to save.

Thanks
Eilz

Hehe thats so, spooky!!! cos I was only looking through the script and the source html a couple of night ago, cos i really miss tv links and being as powerflv was virtually the same as tv links i'd like to see it back again.

I was just having trouble trying to establish the format of the script for instance from powerflv default.py

Quote:#[(url,catname)]
def getCategories(url):
res=[]
f=urllib.urlopen(url)
a=f.read()
f.close()
p=re.compile(r'<a href="\.(\?cat=\w*)".+?/> (\w*)')
match=p.findall(a)
for url,name in match:
url="http://powerflv.com/"+url
res.append((url,name))
return res

After looking at the html source in my opinion it would make sense to try and simply the script and maybe define the actual catagory links into it?

i.e

http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Do...aries.html
http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Movies.html
http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Mu...ideos.html
http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Shows.html
http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Anime.html
http://powerflv.nabolister.com/cache1/Cartoons.html

or even go into http://movies.nabolister.com/ and so on,

i think this would be much more easy to track and update, I will have a look but my time is very limited as I have own business and work quite a lot so dont expect anything fast at first.
