Full Version: How to extract and keep "old" Estuary version as .zip file?

Hello,

I loved Estuary at the state it had around early October, before Wall and InfoWall were changed (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/10646).
Today I tested the big overhaul of Estuary and there are just too many changes I am not really happy with - no offense!

So I would like to keep this (lightweight) early October version for future releases.

Is it possible to somehow extract it as .zip file or just download it somewhere so I can manually install it from zip?
I have not been able to find a way yet.

Please help me out...
Thanks!
yep just set branch to classic and download the zip, you will get latest v1 then. youll be able to switch between both. but thats the only way i see other then reinstalling.

Thanks for your help!
Does this "classic" branch have the original "Wall" and "InfoWall" views?

Edit:
I just tried, unfortunately it is the version with the "ugly" Wall and InfoWall.

I think the change was implemented October 6th:

Can I somehow extract it from there?
im not sure maybe someone else knows.
Download Millhouse's build #1006 from this thread http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=269815, open the archive, go to \target\SYSTEM\usr\share\kodi\addons\ and copy the skin.estuary folder. You'll probably have to change the folder name and the skin name in addon.xml
Thank you!
I tried a different approach last night (without finishing) but your's seems more promising. Smile

However the complex (sub)folder structure seems to be confusing to 7zip while extracting:

Should I choose "No to All" or "Yes to All"?

These are the specs of the skin.estuary folder when I select "No to All":

So I guess it does not make a difference? Smile
It worked perfectly!
Thank you so much @adun79.

If anyone else is interested in that version of Estuary, let me know.
I am happy to share the .zip if phil65 and Piers are OK with that!
I'd also be interested in the version one skin, everything is so large in V2 which is wasting much screen space ! Smile
Hope you can send the ZIP Smile
If you don't mind, I'd appreciate a copy of that ZIP as well, jd17.

I loved Estuary v1 from the day it showed up in nightlies until the few annoying changes it received in mid-October. I can only hope v2/-next improves and regains the utility of v1.
if your after the latest V1 Estuary you can just goto the estuary skin repo and download the zip then install it from the addon menu (addons > addon browser > install from zip file)

https://github.com/phil65/skin.estuary/tree/classic

then you can select between both V1 and V2 anytime you like.
I'll upload the .zip for you guys later today.
Was the "classic" branch updated recently to incorporate the original "Wall" and "InfoWall" views?
When I tried that a few days ago, it had the "ugly" views.

The whole reason behind extracting an older version was to get the old Wall and InfoWall back.
That is well documented in this thread...
Here is the download link for Estuary 0.85 with old Wall and InfoWall views:
