So my problem is simple (I guess), Kodi won't show my PC's files when I try to browse. It does show a workgroup, and a Kodibuntu folder is there, but i can't seem to fint my movies and music.
If anyone could help, that would be appreciated.
Have you shared the folder they are in?

Well, I have made some progress, my PC does show up in the Workgroup, but when I try to access it it says 'Operation not permitted.'
I am really hoping to access my files through my HTPC, so if anyone could help me I would really, really appreciate it.
What os is the server using? What os is the kodi machine using?

I've shared my files on my Win 10 PC and am trying to access it via a machine that I installed Kodibuntu on, and updated it to Ubuntu 16.
OK make sure you are using proper SMB on the win10 machine, not "homegroup" or whatever it is called.
