Hi Milhouse!

I discovered that Kodi will go into fail safe mode if you change the speed unit from "mph" tp "m/s"

Ho to repeat on latest build (#0104):

In expert mode, go to Settings -> Interface -> regional
Change "Speed unit" from "mph" to "m/s"
Save and reboot

Libreelec will not be able to boot correctly and will go into fail safe mode.
This affects all version fom #1221 (2017) until #0104 (2018) on my RPi3

Cheers!

Can you upload a crashlog?
Hi Milhouse

Do I have to enable anything to get a good log? If not, then here it is:
https://transfer.sh/S0TAl/kodi.log

Cheers

You can just go into the LibreELEC Settings add-on and click on the "Upload crash log" entry, then enter here the url you are shown. You can do this while in Safe Mode too, as it will upload the latest crashlog from the "failed" Kodi installation.

Can I fix the new updates, I can use my remote?

I believe that you should now be using dtoverlay=gpio-ir instead of lirc-rpi
HiassofT may be able to provide more details (search around and you'll see a number of posts by him explaining the change)
Ok. Thanks, here's the url: http://ix.io/DG5

Thanks - this is reproducible on Ubuntu (using GB settings) so not an LE issue. I guess the following change might be the best candidate:

  1. XBMC:
    • [weather][refactor] kill g_weatherManager global (PR:13227, 6 commits, 20 files changed)
I can confirm that PR13227 is the cause of the metres/second crash.

This is a debug-enabled crash log from LibreELEC: http://ix.io/DGf - for some reason crashlogs from Ubuntu lack useful debug information now.
Is there anyone who can answer my question please?
Did you overlook this: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2687487 ?

I'm not using a IR remote, but this should be it: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2649460 .
Milhouse, glad to hear that you found the source of the problem.
Thanks for your fantastic work with LibreELEC !
