@Devil-Strike one last thing - when filing the bug report, can you use the piotrasd build since this is based on the drm-intel-next kernel, not 4.9.0.
@Milhouse, ye no problem will use the piotrasd build for the test @fritsch, Thanks wont forget Smile

Thanks for helping.

Hi Milhouse

I'm seeing a curious behaviour with every testbuild after version #1212b (ie: 1212b does not have this issue).

It occurs using my chosen skin - Xonfluence - but does not manifest when using Estuary. The point of asking here is to narrow down what changes should be considered by the skin author, so that compatibility can be restored.

The issue is when playing a video: the pop-up seekbar graphic is displayed - and remains on-screen for the full duration of playback (even during the boot-up INTRO video):

Image

I've confirmed this with every release since #1212b, so it seems logical that something in #1213 is throwing off the skin.

Any suggestion I can pass along to the author would be much appreciated.

Thanks - again - for all the superb work you do pushing the Kodi Frontier forward !
The Xconfluence skin maintainer needs to make changes to the skin after PR11058 removed the infobools from Kodi 18 that were flagged as deprecated here.

Currently the skin is broken in Kodi 18 as the infobools it uses are no longer supported in Kodi 18. If the maintainer adds the new infobools then the skin should work correctly in both Kodi 17 and Kodi 18.

Oh nice hevc 10bit support, tested and works Smile
which one is the newer one and has the most benefits for apollo Lake?! #1217 or the piotrasd version from Apollo Lake Threat?!
Don't see any difference other than #1217 have hevc 10bit support and use alpha version of kodi 18.

Confirmed, working just fine on my trusty old ION1 system. Thanks a lot!

Also the changelog is being displayed again within Dev Update. Don't know if you changed anything to get this working again but thanks anyway.

As far as I know the piotrasd build is LE master but with an alternative kernel, ie. drm-intel-next which includes intel drm changes that should eventually - if accepted - feed into a mainline Linux release (eg. 4.10). I'm not sure which Kodi version is in the piotrasd build, or which version of any other package - it might be Kodi 17b6/7, or it might be Kodi 18a1. It probably doesn't include built-in addons (inputstream.*, pvr.*, game.*)

My builds are also LE master, but with various upgraded components (as detailed in the changelog). So Kodi 18 not Kodi 17, latest addons built-in, but stable kernel (ie. 4.9.0).

I could start building Generic with drm-intel-next but this has a number of potential issues - none of the changes in drm-intel-next are guaranteed to go to mainline which breaks the ethos of my builds (you should, in theory, be able to switch to a future LE release with no loss of functionality), and being an intel-focused kernel this might cause issues for other vendors (nvidia, amd). So I'll be sticking with mainline kernels for my builds.

So to answer the question - my build is generally "newer" in terms of most components, however in this case piotrasd is "newer" because it uses an in-development kernel (but lacks the other upgraded components so might be "older" for those). If all you are concerned with is having the latest kernel - which is why I suggested it to for the stuck frequency - then the piotrasd build is for you.

Not me but Leopold may have pushed a new release (thanks Leopold).
