I've just got the PVR update coming on every time I go into Kodi. I don't want or need it. How to I stop it for good? (I'm running the latest version on a stick with TV)
Disable LiveTV and the pvr addon that is giving you trouble.
I've only been at this a few days. Not sure where to find Disable Live TV I think I've got it but not sure. I have disabled all the pvr's, but still I get loading guide from database followed by importing guide from clients. How do I stop this from loading?

System > TV > make sure 'enable' is not selected (right at the top).
Krypton?
System > Addons > My addons > PVR - make sure they're all disabled.
