Hello,

I performed a fresh install on my HTPC:

Kodi Version: 16.1 Git: c327c53
Ubuntu Version: 16.04.1 LTS (kernel: Linux 4.4.0-53-generic)
Hardware: Intel Core i5-3450, 8GB RAM,
GPU: AMD Radeon 6450 chip

I performed the install as per the install guide. Fresh Ubuntu install, then kodi install using ppa (adding the repository, ensuring that kodi is not already installed, then classic install method).
I totally removed PulseAudio since I won't be using the desktop applications

I set Kodi settings to enable audio passthrough.
Everything is working nice with DTS and AC3 sound, but nothing happens with DTS-HD or TrueHD using HDMI
My amp Yamaha RX-V773 is DTS-HD and TrueHD capable, and when I try to play a movie with DTS-HD or TrueHD, it only displays Decoder off

Here's a debug I just generated after restarting kodi:
http://pastebin.com/UsDq2asT

While playing a movie, if I display the info, I can see that the audio is TrueHD but no sound.

I can't get why this is not working, I read a lot of threads but can't resolve the issue. My Linux level may be unsufficient...

Thanks for any help.
Looks like a very ancient bug :-)

Does it work when you don't switch to 23.976 hz and keep 60 hz, e.g. keep it at 60 hz?

I should have a look on this way.
Going to test and give a feedback.

Interesting article, thanks!
Fritsch, you're the man!
Forced Video playback to stay at the refresh rate, problem resolved!

Thanks for your quick and precious help!
Hello Guys

@Bingoig can you please tell me on which ATI/AMD drivers you are?

Have to check that, will give you the info when I get back home.
That would be great. For me it is not possible to get DTS-HD or Dolby-TrueHD working with my Radeon R3 on Ubuntu 16.04 without fglrx.
