I want to create a keyboard press to toggle the "play next video automatically" checkbox in the video-->playback setting. I haven't found a way to do this as yet and am not even sure if this sort of customization is possible since this setting isn't a built-in function.

Anyone have any ideas/recommendations?

I can't speak to your actual question (sorry) but have you seen the Netflix style next up notification addon? http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=228435 It may do what you want.

I appreciate the suggestion, but nextup isn't working correctly with my setup. Ideally I'd rather not add another layer of complication for the other members of my family, a simple button toggle is ultimately much easier to explain.
