Hello,

env:
linux mint 18.1 with distro kernel 4.8.0-34-lowlatency and Kodi 17.0.
Asus X99 deluxe2 with intel i7 8core and Geforce GTX 1080.

Entered custom shutdown timer in the evening.
Computer is still active in the morning.
User account is a regular user (actually the only one, as this is a fresh install).

1: start kodi
2: play video from dlna source
3: set shutdown timer to 1 minute

result:
kodi shuts down.
computer stays active.

are you sure your shutdown action is set to "shutdown"?
suggests otherwise

Sorry, for being so newb, but where would I set that?
Old posts on google suggets settings - system - hardware, but there's no hardware option under system.
