I currently use a HTPC running Windows 10 and Kodi with a large local disk holding a 1000 movies. It connects into a Pioneer AV Amp etc
I am thinking of replacing it with the Nvidia Shield connecting to a remote file share on my Windows home server (for the 1000 movies) over 1 Gbit network - just a simple UNC connection.
Three questions:

- Should this work OK and give good performance?
- Can I remote control it via my Logitech Harmony Hub over its bluetooth connection or should I get the 500GB Pro version for its IR support?
- Are there any other advantages to go for the Shield Pro for this typical Kodi setup?
