How to stop the annoying artwork downloader add-on from displaying notifications on screen? Oh and the sounds are way too intrusive, they're driving crazy!
I've disabled notifications within system> add-ons.
Is there another location to disable add-on notifications?

Inside the artwork downloader addon you can find the option to disable notifications.
Settings>addons>artwork downloader>configure
I am also experiencing the same issue.
I have enabled Artwork Downloader to run in the background.
I have also disabled notifications thru system>add ons
I have Kodi update the video library on start up.
I removed an episode from my library and switched to Aeon Nox theme.
Restarted and no notification from Artwork Downloader.
I removed the same episode and switched to MQ 7.
Restarted and the notification can be seen and heard.
Using the latest LibreElec

Are you using LibreElec or OpenElec?
I tested this on Windows and it doesn't occur but on LE it definitely does.
actually i just talked to Wanilton and he helped me out with the issue.
in Skin Settings > General Settings > Get Artwork Automatic
Turn this off and it will stop the annoying artwork downloader.
