New to the forum, I am hoping to find some help.
After downloading 17.1 my menu won't save any of my settings. Every time I open Kodi the "first run" helper pops up. Things like me "view" and "sort by" for my titles never save.
Is this a common thing for most users? Any help would be great.

Make the changes you want and exit the Kodi app (Top left icon for power). It will save your settings.
As soon as I leave the current menu that I have changed (for instance a menu in exodus) the menu change I have made is gone.
So when I use the back button on Firestick and power off, my change has already been lost.

You need to read the links and remove the banned addons before anybody will help you, that's just the way it is.
I'm sorry you take offense to how people use Kodi. Like I said, I was unaware of the forum rules.

no "View" and "Sort by" aren't addon features or unsupported, what is unsupported is installs "contaminated" with banned addons as we can have no idea what they are doing to the code, they are generally the cause of most issues.
Hence the "Clean install" or no support mantra.
