Hello,

I want to install and use this red bull tv addon, but installation fails. Here is what I do:

  1. download "kodi.plugin.video.redbulltv2-master.zip" from github
  2. open kodi - go to addons - install from zip file
  3. choose the above zip file

Image

In the log file I can see the following message:

Code:
16:56:12.792 T:15332   ERROR: Failed to read 'zip://Y%3a%5ckodi%5ckrypton%5ckodi.plugin.video.redbulltv2-master.zip/kodi.plugin.video.redbulltv2-master/addon.xml'

This happens at my nvidia shield and a windows 10 pc with krypton 17.3.

What is wrong?

Greetings Hoppel

Forget this post, downloaded the wrong zip file. The addon works as expected.

Greetings Hoppel
I've created a Pull Request to add user settings for the addon to allow a choice of video resolution and extract the media stream for the configured quality:

https://github.com/nedge2k/kodi.plugin.v...tv2/pull/1

Martijn, I've put quite a bit of work into refactoring and adding some tests on top of nedge2k's work, and trying to find out if he'd be keen to collaborate on maintaining this add-on, but if not I'd be keen to submit what I've got:
https://github.com/andy-g/kodi.plugin.video.redbulltv2

How would I go about submitting the addon so as to replace the previous RedBull plugin? Sorry, I'm very new to kodi development as well as to Python.
Hi all, updated the first post to reflect that andy-g is now the maintainer for this plugin. My involvement ends at v0.0.5
Thanks nedge2k, I've submitted a pull request to hopefully replace the existing broken Red Bull plugin:
https://github.com/xbmc/repo-plugins/pull/1423
This has now been approved and merged into the official kodi krypton addon repo (at version 2.0.1):
https://kodi.tv/addon/plugins-video-add-ons/red-bull-tv

RedBull changed their API endopints so I also needed to update that:
https://github.com/xbmc/repo-plugins/pull/1471/
are you ready for the Rampage?
Don't know if someone tried to watch rampage live event from the addon. I wasn't able. Opening using "play" I was able to see just a screen with impressed "the broadcast will start soon" or something like this. So I used their internet page where the event was already available. Just to report.
Andy-g thank you - I was able to watch live Rampage. I am going to check a live WRC Super Stage today. I hope that it will be OK too. It was impossible to watch live broadcasting with the old plugin.
So, I could not to watch the live broadcasting of the WRC Super Stage today. The broadcasting on the mobile (android) application was OK.
@vma_14 @peppe_sr there is a know issue with live streams:
https://github.com/andy-g/kodi.plugin.vi...2/issues/4

It appears that when attempting to play a live event stream, playback starts from the beginning of the stream rather than as close to live as possible. This usually results in an background animation that seems to play for 5 or 10 minutes before the actual event kicks off.
It is possible to specify a time to jump to (for example 45 minutes into the stream), but the stream should start paying from as close to live as possible.
I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Red Bull m3u8 playlist, or with the way Kodi handles the stream, or with the implementation in the plug-in (although it just passes the stream playlist to Kodi, so not sure how it could handle that differently).
The"watch now" Red Bull TV doesn't seem to be effected by the same problem, but I think that may be because the playlists are handled differently, I'll need to do some investigation.
first sorry for my bad english :- /
Your Redbull TV plugin works well until the first ad comes. I still see the picture "Advertising" then you only hear the movie or advertising, it appears no more picture only the sound.
I use Kodi 17 (last Version)  and the plugin from repository v2.0.2
I have tried this several times under Kodi and the FireTV. Do you know how to fix it? Many Thanks.
I tried to watch the WRC Spain today, but it did not work at all. It is a pity.
I could watch the WRC Spain today, so the plugin looks OK again.
