Help - trying to bring my Android Box back into use. Trying to Side Load KODI and apk file will not install.

It contains XMBC.It indicates "J1nx" "hackable gadgets" at the splash screen Anyone know what i'm dealing with?

You need Android Lollipop 5.0 as a minimum OS for Kodi Krypton.
Find out which version of Android you are running by looking in Kodi > System > Sysinfo > Summary > Operating System
