I am trying to determine the way to find the following artist 'Coverdale/Page' (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coverdale%E2%80%A2Page) but no matter how I type it, Kodi returns a search box that it cannot locate the artist. I am not sure how to have this artist in Kodi so it will bring up the correct artist information. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated. Thank you.
This assumes you use Kodi 17.0+
I suggest you use a tag edit software such as mp3tag to edit your tags so this shows as you want in Kodi music library.
These tags you want (using the "common name").
Artist: Coverdale•Page (or Coverdale/Page if you prefer)
Artists: Coverdale / Page (note the "s" on artists -- a different tag)
Musicbrainz Artist Id: 8b26558a-1073-45cf-b9a2-233703654ffb / 519774a4-3b18-4042-b8c0-927845a616c9
Album Artist: Coverdale•Page (or Coverdale/Page if you prefer)
Album Artists: Coverdale / Page (note the "s" on artists -- a different tag)
Musicbrainz Album Artist ID: 8b26558a-1073-45cf-b9a2-233703654ffb / 519774a4-3b18-4042-b8c0-927845a616c9
You also need the Musicbrainz Album Id (for any album releases by this artist).
Or ague with musicbrainz that "Coverdale•Page" should be treated as a unique artist. (alternatively, instead of using musicbrainz, create an artist.nfo file with your own info (such as from wiki) for Coverdale•Page).
