I recently updated my library and it found names for really weird movies, some just numbers. i have some of my movies under folder with the movie name and some are just files. has anyone seen this issue before? thanks.

Yes, I had this. I THINK it was due to an addon, but I might be wrong.
Try temporarily disabling all video addons, then clean & update the database

I've seen this too. Though In my case, was because how my DVR recorded them.
Example: Video source> Right click, select "Movie information"
"American History X_STARZP_2013_01_22_03_48_00.wtv"
Just backspace to movie title, click done and re-scrape.

It is really important that movies and TV Shows are named correctly for Kodi to scrape them correctly.
You say that you recently updated your library, but it is not clear whether you updated from an older version of Kodi, or you added new content to your library and updated.
If you haven't read the wiki on how to name shows, that is a good place to start.
If you like, can you copy and paste the directory\filenames of some of those titles that have really weird names that aren't working for you. It might be easy to spot where it is going wrong.
