I did a fresh install after an upgrade did not work. I am now getting the dreaded "Kodi has stopped working error.

Anyone see anything in this log that I don't

After playing with it for awhile with no success. I reinstalled 14.2 and everything is great again. Hopefully someone can figure out why 17 won't run for me
Have you tried running 17 as a "portable" install? Just install Kodi into a new folder and change the icon to add "-p" to the target. That will launch kodi as a clean new install with all its data stored in the same location. See if that works.

How did you install an older version? 17 won't work for me at all... I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and haven't found anything helpful yet in any of these blogs...Undecided
I did a fast comparison between your graphics engine and my 8 year old challenged gfx card

from what I can see the answer pretty well lies in that chart. It's either equipment hardware time or a Linux variant that will bring new life. The legacy version 15.2 http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/win32/ol...engard.exe should be an easy upgrade from your 14.2 so there is something good to come of all of this.

@ak22 note the legacy link.

Unfortunately, this is a notebook that I use to run Kodi. No upgrading option and I am not ready to buy a new machine. I am surprised that Kodi requires so much graphical power.

I happen to have the old 14.2 still in my download folder.

4K UHD res, 10 bit, h265, I blame the graphic card manufacturers and their drivers

15.2 should work well and has some extras; you can run something like LibElec off a USB pen drive.
