I have a Hauppauge 1950 running on a win 10 laptop and cannot get it to be recognized on KODI ver. 18. Is there a specific driver that can be used for this unit or another one in the KODI PVR list that will function?

As based on your question we assume that you have not yet installed a PVR backend software?
If you have not or have no idea what I am talking about then read http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR and http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR_backend
You do need to use a PVR backend software as Kodi does not nativly support tuners itself.
So yes you will need drivers for your tuner from Hauppauge but you also need a PVR backend software that is compatible with Kodi.
