Full Version: TMDB, Update Library not scraping every title

I've been using Kodi 17 on Raspberry Pi3 for 3 months.

I've been adding 5-6 movies a day with no issue until today.

Today when I update my library after added files to my drive nothing is scraped by the TMDB.

When I go to Video and add that way I fall into a loop, retype title, when normally it would list possible titles close to it, year differences etc.

Now is says cannot contact server? and reboots kodi

Frustrated, any similar issues or fixes, workarounds?
The title says TMDB, but your text says IMDB.

If it is TMDB, read here esp. post#9... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=315813
Must be an expensive habit buying 5-6 DVD/Blurays per day...

That's funny about the DVDs. Good one.

Seriously, thanks for your attention to my issue.

Could you tell me the IDEAL, OPTIMAL way to organize my files.

EG. DIR NAME Pulp Fiction (1993), filename Pulp.Fiction.1993.avi ?

people have mention .NFO files to be present with video file for optimal scraping?

Best way is to place each movie file in it's own movie directory. And these movie directories are inside the directory that is the Source in Kodi. As an example...

f:\Movies\Pulp Fiction (1994)\Pulp Fiction (1994).avi

"Movies" is the Source in Kodi. This is the simplest and cleanest way to do it. ALWAYS put the release year in (brackets)

Also make sure you check the name at the scraper site. You will note the name above is EXACTLY as shown at the scraper... https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/680-pulp-fiction

nfo's are not required. Kodi does a fabulous job scraping. Personally I think people get carried away with nfo's for no good reason. Leave nfo's for things like Home Movies, or Sports Events or other items that don't appear at a public scrape site.

Here is the wiki for correct naming... http://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files/Movies

If you are doing TV Shows, they can be a little bit more involved.

Hope that helps.
