Hello,

When I set the Samba workgroup in kodi gui in Service Settings > SMBgroup > workgroup
this setting does not seem to have any affect.
I have a lot of samba shares on devices that are in a workgroup that is not named the standard "workgroup"... But searching for them on kodi I cannot find them because kodi looks for "WORKGROUP", even when the samba workgroup was renamed.

I SSH'ed into kodi and took a look at /etc/samba/smb.conf. And there is still "workgroup" configured, which I cant edit because squashfs is an read only filesystem and /etc is on squashfs.

My questions:
Is this a bug that the GUI setting has no affect?
Is there any way (except decompressing the kodi squashfs on an other computer, making changes, compressing it again) to edit files in /etc directly?

Thanks in advance,
Izzymon
There is a shared Samba folder with config files that you can edit.

And even if you have problems with Samba you should be able to access and edit the files in that folder through SSH.

Otherwise when I need to change config.txt that is also in the readonly section I use the commands in this link:
