I am hooking my laptop to my tv via a hdmi chord. When I watch a movie I cannot change the picture size on the tv. Nothing I have found will allow me to go full screen on the tv. appreciate help how to.

Z key to change the zoom/aspect ratio in Kodi, is this what you mean?

If you mean you are playing it in a Window, then press the \ key to go Full-Screen.
