Kodi 17.3, on a fresh Windows 10 all updates, on a brand new NUC i3. Windows loads, Kodi loads automatically, and then error pops on the screen that an application has stopped working. If I click OK Kodi closes.

Anywhere I can look at detailed logs? What I have in event log is:

Faulting application name: Kodi.exe, version: 17.3.0.0, time stamp: 0x5925f940
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.15063.447, time stamp: 0xa96ab320

Note if relevant, I am launching this automatically with Launcher4Kodi. Once I click OK on the error and Kodi closes it doesn't launch again until I restart. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Please provide a Debug Log. Instructions here... http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2572642
OK didn't error this time but maybe the log will tell something that may cause it? Also wasn't in the userdata folder was one level up if that's the right log. Even though I followed the link above, noticed in the log file it sounded like it was doing normal logging because nothing was set?

Debugging was not enabled. It hasn't loaded any advancedsettings.xml file, so you have probably placed it in the wrong directory. As stated in the guide, it should be \kodi\userdata\advancedsettings.xml

If you don't catch the error, there is nothing for us to see. Just re-submit when you do catch the error in the debug log.
Figured it out. Windows 10 saved it as a .xml but .xml.txt stupid notepad. Stay tuned.
Yes. Happens a lot, especially if you have Hide Extensions enabled in windows.

Try using Notepad++. Should be top of the Google results.
OK here's the log but again didn't fail this time. I do have a crash log that looks binary at the time it happened. Not sure if it would contain anything or you can do anything with it, or how I'd include it anywhere to download.

Thanks. Nothing to see until the error is recorded in the log.
Still playing with the setup so will have to see if it reproduces. Can't do it right now. Only thing I can say that was unique, is I had the NUC plugged in and powered off for a week. Just turned it back on for the first time and crash. Not sure if that has any relevance but will report back if it happens again.

Thanks.
