hi
i am using raspberry pi 3 with openelec 8.0.3, kodi 17.1 git:39e9963 compiled on 30 april 2017 .
so , the situation is
my rpi3 makes wifi network (say openElec-AP) using ' enable tethered wireless access point' option .
my android mobile connects to openElec-AP .

now , i have a video file on my android mobile .
currently , i have enabled samba on kodi , so i copy my video to rpi3 and then play it .

i am looking for a way to play my video on rpi3 without copying to it .
i guess , i should run some server on android mobile then kodi will be able to play files on android mobile .
i am looking for your experiences telling me what worked for you . BTW , videos are 20-30 minutes long .

thanks.
You can do it quite easily with the Yatse app for android. Then you can click share on a video (or photo) and choose play on Media Center
ok
i will try that
hi ,
i tried yatse 7.8.5 from playstore .
