Full Version: Kodi/TVDB not picking up a few random TV shows

I've recently adopted Kodi on my HTPC and noticed that it hasn't picked up the metadata for a few TV shows:

The Frankenstein Chronicles (2015)
Les Revenants (2012)
Pryde Of The X-Men (1989)
The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008)
Wolverine And The X-Men (2008)
X-Men Evolution (2000)
X-Men: The Animated Series (1992)

I've double-checked the names of the folders, and each has an entry on TVDB. Can anyone figure out what the confusion may be?

Thanks!
Hi CasanovaFly,

No, we can't figure out the problem with the information provided. We will need a debug log. It may look daunting at first but it is fairly simple.

The instructions are in my signature. Use the Basic method. Once you have enabled debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging, restart Kodi then replicate the problem. In your case, run a complete Update Library. Once done upload to pastebin and link back here.
Thank you for the quick reply!

Here's the log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/25501346/
No problems.

The scraper is returning empty results.

Just need one more thing... a screenshot of your directory for Frankenstein and its contents so I can see all the episodes. If you are on windows, use windows explorer. I think it may be a naming problem, but just want to double check.
It is definitely a naming problem.

You have the show named as The Frankenstein Chronicles (2015) but the TVDB has it named as The Frankenstein Chronicles or Frankenstein Chronicles. TV Shows are a bit different to Movies when it comes to naming. When naming movies, it is recommended to always add the (year) at the end of the movie title. With TV Shows, you only ever add the (year) when it is shown that way on TVDB.

See here- No year... http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=302627&lid=7
See here- with year... http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73545&lid=7

If you remove the year from the tv show directory and from the episodes, it should scrape. I checked a couple other shows you listed and they had the same issue.

You are correct. Just tried the rename sans year and it's working now. That seems completely odd. You would think adding the year would be another level of specificity, but I guess not.

Regardless, thank you for the quick help!
