I have this issue in Kodi 17.4.. After unplugging the hdmi cable from pc to tv and connecting to a different tv, I lose full screen.
This wasn't an issue in Kodi 16.1 and allowed me to watch video in another room.
Is this a one off disconnect? If yes, then it is not worth worrying about.
If this is a regular disconnect, then the question needs to be asked... Why?

I often do this 2-3 times daily so I can watch MLB.tv in the kitchen. I run a 35 foot active hdmi cable from the pc, which is in the living room.
