Hey,

I'm trying to use MXPlayer instead of the native one, but I'm not getting anywhere.

I've tried following http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Use_externa...on_Android, but apparently that one isn't accurate anymore for kodi 17.

Then I tried using the code in this thread: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1566.0

Again, didn't work. How do I make this work? Plsrespond.jpg.exe

quick edit: as source I'm using an FTP server btw. Which I did try specifying in the xml file, as a protocol. I also tried filetypes="mkv", no dice either.
Just wondering... What is Plsrespond.jpg.exe supposed to mean here? As some type of joke?

Normally, such filenames indicate a virus/worm hidden as an executable file for people not having their file extensions displayed in the Windows OS.
That's what you would call "memeing", my dude

No viruses (virii) here, amigo! Now can we get back on-topic? Nod
Maybe you already try but first thing to do would be to try to play the file directly in MXplayer just to be sure it is capable to play file from FTP server
Yep, it deffo is capable!
