Thought I'd share with everyone to save them the frustration I had for a few days. Built a new gaming rig and could not connect to samba shares from Kodi on Android, Windows had no problem. Turns out that smb v1 is no longer installed by default with a fresh install of the Fall Creators update (updates to the Fall Creators update will still have it from the previous build), once installed all Android clients connected! I know it's not ideal for security reasons but will let the team know (if they don't read these) and hopefully get smb v2 support added (or fixed).
