Just buy a Rii controller. It is a handheld mouse and keyboard combined and works great. You can get one on ebay for about $10.
Hi, I have this problem with mouse, not click the target place, using the Samsung Dex Mode, and is indifferet if use, mouse, air mouse or smartphone like a trackpad.
Is impossible to use kodi with this problem, but on normal android (on smartphone works fine).

Solution: go to system/settings view menu. And there are an option for default settings on the bottom. Click and set default settings. Thats ok.
