Hi Community,

I just finished installing my new media centre and I can't get the Logitech Harmony 650 to work at all.
I was used to the LIRC method in Ubuntu 16 and used it before with my Zotac IR. But with Ubuntu 17.10 everything seems different.
And of course, MyHarmony adds another layer of complexity. I did lot's of searching and reading in this forum and Google. but all solutions point to older Ubuntu versions and didn't work for me. I am stuck!

Could you help and guide me down the path of successfully setting up the remote for Kodi, ideally using all the buttons.

What I know so far (or think to know):

Hardware & SW:
Intel NUC7i5BNH with integrated ITE8708 CIR receiver
Logitech Harmony 650
Ubuntu 17.10 server
Kernel Mainline 4.13.13-041313-generic
No Lirc, using ir-keytable

MyHarmony configured as
- Windows Media Center Extender and also to try
- Intel NUC7i5BNH

Ubuntu seems able to receive signals from the IR receiver

* Not all keys are received in ir_keytable -t in both MyHarmony choices. The Intel NUC config doesn't show most of the keys at all.
* Kodi doesn't recognize most of the keys pressed at all. Almost only direction keys work correctly.
* I tried the apt install lirc way of getting lirc to work but this didn't work at all.

* Can you help me create or point me to an existing ir_keytable keymap that works well for the Harmony 650 and Kodi?
* Should I select a different, better supported configuration in MyHarmony?
* Is there anything else I should do completely different in this endeavour?

Thank you for your support!

I had the same problem, ended up buying Flirc which works well.
Thanks for your response. I'm pretty close to resolving the issue by mapping a custom Kodi keymap.xml to a specific Harmony profile. Theoretically, didn't have time to do it yet. I am thinking of writing a guide, once I found some time to work on the actual fix.

The Nuc does receive the IR remote control commands properly, so it's not an issue with the receiver not being supported. It's simply the mapping, both in MyHarmony ad well as Kodi.

Hello Endeavour79,
were you able to solve this? I'm having the same problems. NUC/Ubuntu seems to get all the commands right but Kodi just reacts to the arrow keys.
Thanks, kopi
